So today we met Fe's sister Luz and her husband John at the Good Time Charlies Restaurant on Broadway Street in San Antonio
near the I-281 and I-35 exchange. It looked like a complicated transfer from I-10 and we didn't exactly follow the map
but were able to find the place ok. The chicken fried steak is their specialty so I tried it and it was good.
Afterwards we drove down the street to the Japanese Tea Garden to look at the flowers, waterfalls, etc.
So we took some photos on the bridge, by the falls, etc and spent about a half hour or more there.
The ladies then went to look for a rest room and I found the buildings that I think were reconstructed to show a cement
factory that previously operated at or near that site.
We parted from Luz and John and headed to find the Alamo. I eventually found it but from a different direction than I
normally get there, so parked in a parking lot near it. I thought I completed their meter system when I entered the
tag number of the car, but apparently I wasn't done yet as my car was towed when we came back for it. It was a big
hassel finding out where my car was at and how to get it back, not to mention the $219 they charged for the $10 ticket I
thought I had bought. I think I will search a little more seriously for the riverwalk parking garage next time I go back.
Anyway John and Luz came and we eventually found the lot they had towed it to. Other than that it was a good day.
