Texas Hill Country - 2018

Monday, June 25, 2018.

So today my plan was to get some better pictures in the Natural Bridge Caverns than I got when we brought the Dominican Nuns there several years ago. On our way out the Resort Complex I got a view of the herd of deer that hang around there for the buckets of water and apparently the greener grass.

So with my Pentex on manual focus and higher "film" speed I guessed I could overcome the lighting issues of taking pictures in the darker surrounds of the cavern. You be the judge on my success. Anyway the cave tour was a new experience for Fe who was actually the primary reason for this trip. My trip tick for routing from Bandera to New Braunfels was accurate, but the signage on the road from that direction was not evident. Once I knew we passed it, I turned around and the road signs were pretty evident from the southern, San Antonio, direction. Anyways we are on vacation so not a problem.

From the caverns exit we did a u-turn and entered the Wildlife Ranch. This is a fenced in area containing a lot of exotic animals that you can view from your car as you slowly drive along the paved roads. Part of the entry fee gets you a small bag of food that can be used to entice the animals to the road area for better viewing.
